Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m the founder of Tumbleweed & Oak — a wife and mom of four living in West, a small town in central Texas. My life revolves around faith, family, and creating a home that feels safe, peaceful, and intentional.

What began as a personal journey toward a healthier lifestyle eventually became the foundation of this business.

A Journey Toward a Low-Tox Lifestyle

More than 15 years ago, after the birth of my oldest son, I discovered he had sensitivities to environmental toxins — especially synthetic fragrance. That experience opened my eyes to how everyday household products can impact our health and indoor air quality.

I began transitioning our home to a cleaner, low-tox lifestyle, carefully choosing products made with safer, simpler ingredients. Like many families pursuing non-toxic living, I learned that small changes can make a meaningful difference.

Why Beeswax Candles?

One of the hardest things to give up was candles. I loved the warmth, comfort, and atmosphere they created, but many traditional candles contain artificial fragrance oils and materials that didn’t align with the healthier environment I wanted for my family.

When I searched for non-toxic candles, I struggled to find options that were both clean and aesthetically beautiful. I wanted candles made with pure ingredients that also complemented modern home decor.
